Mommy Reality Challenge #13

This week has been intense. Jen lives in the Southwest and had a flash flood rip through her neighborhood and in one short hour turn it into a swampy submerged river area (pictures to come). Celeste lives in the St Louis area and has been seeing some scary rioting in her area. Through all of the craziness though we have both looked forward to coming back to see what our friends and growing community of Moms shared for this week's challenge.
You did not disappoint! This has to be one of our best weeks for Mommy Reality pics! We saw cute bathing beauty nose pickers, uh-oh moments and so much more. The amazing thing is that each of us can look at these pictures and as Moms relate to what we see happening.
Now for our "When Photos Fail" Mommy Reality Meme winner!
When Tracy of the Uncoordinated Mommy shared her picture via Instagram of what was supposed to be a sweet moment of two brothers hugging in the water that instead turned to this, we knew we had a winner! Here's your meme, Tracy! And since you're the challenge winner, you have the opportunity to be our co-host on next week's post! We hope you'll join us!
Our runner up slot goes to the hilarious ladies Emily and Leilani of Just a Touch of Crazy for this adorable photo fail!

Visit the Mommy Reality tumblr page to see all of our previous memes!

Now it's time for the next challenge!

Ready For a NEW Mommy Reality Challenge? How about we take Mommy Reality to the grocery store!

All of us will be at the grocery store at least one time this week, perhaps even multiple times.....
If you are a Mom there is no place better for bringing the real than at the grocery store. Sometimes in order to survive a trip down the aisles we may employ bribery, so snap a pic of your cutie happily munching on that cookie and share it here. You could also snap a pic of all the kids piled high in the cart alongside the toilet paper and veggies or share something that you see every time you go to the store, but the rest of us may have never seen. Jen's personal favorite is to peruse the clearance aisle and find treasures like this:
Don't Forget! If you're sharing your photos via social media, make sure to include the #mommyreality hashtag so we can find you and come back and link your picture up here so everyone can share in the goodness!

Don't forget to grab our super-nifty button!

✔ *By submitting your pic, you are giving the Mommy Reality Team permission to use your photo to create a special silly meme for you if you win! :). If you win, you also have the to opportunity to be our co-host!
✔ **The Mommy Reality team and our special co-host are VERY diligent in pinning, posting, and sharing the link-up participation every week, so make sure to follow us on our social media channels so you won't miss out!
We encourage you to visit a couple other Mommy Reality participants in the link-up and leave meaningful comments! The best part of this link-up is that we're a community of real moms with a sense of humor about ourselves!

The Incredible Edible Sand

We love messy play! Okay, okay they love messy play and I enjoy watching them have fun while making a mess.

I hate sand! I hate the way it feels on my feet and I hate how it sticks to you and never leaves. I don't like how when you come home from the beach it's all in your bathing suit. But my kids however love sand. Baby G has not had the pleasure of playing in sand and nor will she until she figures out how to cure that tasting problem that she has. So I set out on a mission to make sand. I have made our own cloud dough before but never thought about how to make sand. I think I figured it out.

Our sand is fairly easy. It's pretty much cloud dough but with an added ingredient. The fun not only comes from playing with this homemade version of sand but it comes in the

Bubble Art

Out of pure boredom does good ideas come to me.

The girls and I were just sitting around during our quite time bored out of our minds. No one wanted to go outside or go anywhere, Fro Baby and Baby G were not in the mood to be bothered, it was hot and sticky outside, and the AC makes everyone in the house sneeze. I knew that we just had to get up cause two days of just slothing (It's word cause I say it's a word) around is not cool.

While sitting there stuck in sloth mode I was thinking of ways to break my home free of the lazy.

Child Led Paint Session: Fro Baby's Transition From Toddler to Big Girl

We had a Fro Baby Led Paint Session recently. It was something of a shocker for me cause she has not really asked for a big session like this in a while and because she wanted to set it up on her own.
Fro Baby came to me and said "I want to finger paint. I want to make my own paint!" I told her "Cool! Go grab your stuff." She goes and grabs her supplies which includes corn starch, food coloring, jars, spoons, forks, pieces of T-Shirt, straws, and newspaper. Lots and lots of newspaper! Let's see how this went.

She lays all the newspaper on the floor and then asks me to help her mix up some paint. (Really she means I stand and watch as she creates a mess) After done mixing the paint up she calls down all four of her sisters. While she is waiting for them to come down she sits on the newspaper and proceeds to paint on her own.

Jell-O Drink

There was a question asked on Facebook by True Aim about beverages and I answered. My answer included a drink that I call Jell-o Drink. This drink is something that I can make fairly simple seeing how I can't make Jell-O. So I figured that I should share it with you guys. Cause I have a feeling you will be seeing loads of more Jell-O posts coming.

Jell-O Drink Title

This Jell-O Drink idea is not mines. It really came from my older two grandmother, she made this for Two Cent when she was a baby.

Oh! The things we touch in this house.
I truly, really, really DO NOT LIKE SLIME! I have tried to avoid it for as long as possible. I have let my children enjoy slime with other folks, but not me. Now I see that I must dive into the snotty feeling of this toddler fav sensory play.

After surfing the net with Fro Baby she spotted a picture of some slime and asked me what it was. (UGH! I guess I'm doing this, huh?)

Squeasy Snacker Review/Giveaway

So I see this kind of sort of ad on Top Mommy Blogs in a forum for a Squeasy Snacker Bottle. I get happy cause 1) I really wanted to do a review and 2) Fro Baby is going to preschool this year. (And you know what that means. LUNCHES!)

So I asked the people at Squeasy Gear to allow me to do this review and I got the review. Want to read it? Well then here it goes.
